CAR RENTAL

Getting around in Florida (shopping, trips to the beach etc etc) pretty much necessitates hiring a car for the duration of your stay. Public transport is pretty limited and most shops tend to be located in small to large shopping centres/retail parks.
Be careful when booking car hire for the U.S to check what insurances are and are not included in any quotes you get. There are a whole host of different insurances - CDW, State taxes etc etc, and if you don't check which ones are included in your car hire, you could find yourself being forced to pay for extra insurances on arrival in the U.S. Many airlines who offer fly/drive fares (flight plus car hire) do not include the cost of insurance in the fly/drive price, so again, check what insurances are included in the price (in most cases there is an option to pay a supplement for fully inclusive insurance). For this reason, I tend to book my car hire via a company who offer fully inclusive car hire rates. Here are a few companies in the UK, who offer fully inclusive car hire rates.
